About DASSH UK
DASSH UK is the representative body of Deans of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities in universities and higher education institutions throughout the UK. It provides a forum for debating matters of policy and practice in relation to our disciplines and their development. DASSH also acts as an excellent network for managers and senior managers working in the sector enabling the exchange of information and ideas.
Our members are PvC/Deans, Deans, Deputy Deans, Assistant Deans, and Heads of Schools/Faculties/Colleges/Institutes/Departments of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities.
We usually hold two in-person meetings a year – one in November and one in May. At these events we invite leading figures from the HE sector to talk about current issues. Members also have the opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and share best practice.
For 2024/25 we are also introducing monthly online seminars on issues of interest to our members, as well as facilitating informal networking and discussion opportunities.
Information on future meetings can be found on the Events and News pages and we welcome ideas about what the Council can do to support its members and the sector
Annual Membership for 2024/25 is £300 and entitles two representatives from each institution to attend events free of charge. Additional attendees from an institution at in-person events would be charged an additional fee to cover catering/admin costs. Additional attendees at online seminar events are free but must register.
We hope very much that you will join us and contribute to what the network can achieve.
Dr Matthew Day
Chair of DASSH UK
